French quant prints overlooks the historic American Cemetery, the
oldest cemetery in the Louisiana Purchase. The large bathroom features
a Jacuzzi tub, perfect for a long soak after a day of touring the
Natchitoches Landmark Historic District, which is only a few blocks
away. The St. Maurice Room also has Cable TV/DVD and DSL wireless

George Olivier, a Natchitoches native. The room is decorated with
coramonel wooden panels with embellishments, European landscape prints
and two outdoor prints from Savannah, Georgia artist Kathy Miller.
A sitting area containing an antique desk, an oversize black and gold
mirror and plush chairs overlooks Olive's Garden and the American
Cemetery. A separate shower and spacious bath featuring a Jacuzzi

The bedroom is accented with several John James Audubon prints, including the Louisiana Heron, Blue Heron, Flamingo and Swan. The suite contains a French pecan armoire with a bombe front base, a camel back sofa, two mahogany Victorian chairs, a bombe dresser with black marble top and an antique desk along with a heavily carved oversize black and gold leaner mirror. The room is decorated with two floral paintings by renowned Disney artist, Preyong Deeing. The large bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub, perfect for a long soak after exploring the house's vast gardens. KATE CHOPIN SUITE Named in honor of writer Kate Chopin, a former Natchitoches
Parish resident who was the author of The Awakening, this grand downstairs
suite and bedroom is painted fawn brittle and contains a large sitting
room with a taupe couch, matching chairs and a reproduction cherry
armoire. The bedroom features a king-size reproduction antique plantation
house bed with leather inserts and Greek Roman columns along with
a matching armoire. A flam bau whimsical chandelier with crystal accents
and twig-like flourishes is featured in the hallway while the suite
and bedroom contain crystal chandeliers. Throughout the suite and
bedroom are more than a dozen reproduction prints by twentieth century
Italian artist, Leonetto Cappiello, considered the father of modern
advertising due to his innovation in poster design. The large bathroom
features a two-person Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The Kate Chopin
Suite also has Cable TV/DVD and DSL wireless internet connections.
